Agenda:

  • 1 PM: Email Marketing Basics presented by David Weisberg of Yankee Magazine
    Dave will cover the following:
    1. Reasons to use email marketing? How frequently to send?
    2. Who can you email legally? CAN-SPAM law explained.
    3. What platform to use? (Software, Email Service Providers, MS Outlook) How to create email templates (Dreamweaver, hand-coding, templates).
    4. Key elements of your email: list, subject line, from name/email, HTML/TEXT, header and footer content, landing page, opt-out mechanism, landing page consideration, content (design, copy, interaction).
    5. Why testing is important. What should you test (subject line, offer, list, creative, landing page). Which metrics are best (open rate, clicks, conversions).
    6. Reporting: open rate, click through rate, individual clicks, conversion to action/sale
