Agenda: - 1 PM: Email Marketing Basics presented by David Weisberg of Yankee Magazine
Dave will cover the following:
- Reasons to use email marketing? How frequently to send?
- Who can you email legally? CAN-SPAM law explained.
- What platform to use? (Software, Email Service Providers, MS Outlook) How to create email templates (Dreamweaver, hand-coding, templates).
- Key elements of your email: list, subject line, from name/email, HTML/TEXT, header and footer content, landing page, opt-out mechanism, landing page consideration, content (design, copy, interaction).
- Why testing is important. What should you test (subject line, offer, list, creative, landing page). Which metrics are best (open rate, clicks, conversions).
- Reporting: open rate, click through rate, individual clicks, conversion to action/sale
